Fifth week at Calvary: Beginning at the End

Before Sunday I spent the night at my parents apt. I when over at Saturday morning an when out shopping at WalMart and pick up some KFC for dinner. Me and my mother watch BIG MAMMA 2.

The Next morning we started to get ready to go to church. We started our day with Starbucks and walk over to church. Calvary started in serviceing breafast in the Sunday morning.

I toke my mother up to choir and she enjoy the choir Practice. We all got ready in going to the secretary. During the
Hymn of Invitation. Today we had two new memeber walk in front to join our church. And yes I taken a picture of them. I think Amy sermon is wonderful. WoW! Chruch service to a new level, a service that we to some what new age could understand and get to the point. For the pass last week I been leasoning Calvary cassette tape from January 2005- to the beginning of March 2005. Looking forward to leason and reading it over with the Sermons From There Achives. I started to understand what a person mean about who they do there sermon. One day I'll tell you'll about what I learn.

Breafast was servived at Shallenberger Hall anyone was welcome for breafast before Sunday School or Worship and choir.
I enjoy the people of Calvary.

10:45 a.m.

At 10:45 a.m. all fifty year memeber was given a rose in show how many long time memeber. It was a good morning at Calvary. going to choir rehearsal. I miss my budy Ray. And we didn't have to walk and sing at the sametime.
We start the walk from the side of the sanctuary not from the back.
From some were around June 2006 before then. We use to start from the Pastor tempary office. Seeing the Pastor pictures, books, the desk :), the working place that so many good work had been made for all of us. Doing GOD's will.

I'm going to miss it. It was like being in a specail place, being welcome in a special area. I know a office is a office but not this this office. We have a know Organist in the church. Wednesday

During the service at Calvary. Last year summer pastor inturn was Elizabeth Evans also you can go to her BLOG by clicking on her name. She told about her call. I was really really cool. In one of Amy Blogs comment post that I told her that I didn't know her and now. Week by week seeing her and know her more. She one cool pastor with style.

Coffee hour at the Fellowship Hall : It is amazing that so many people with the same hope and goldes in life. Alot of friends.

THE NEW AND 50 YEAR MEMBER Celebration Luncheon is today, in Shallenberger Hall following Worship. Come meet our newest members and celebrate the wonderful service of some of our longest members. There are a limited number of meals available for those who did not sign up. The cost for the meal, cooked by our own Chef Roberto Reyes, is $7.50 for adults and $3.00 for children 18 and under. New members and new 50 year members eat for free as our guests!

The meal was very very very good. The Fellowship was nice and get to see one of the new member mother. The new memeb er got a new history book of Calvary Baptist. I got another one and I'm going to leave it in the raper and safe keeping in the memeber book of 2006-2007. I know the person who made this meal. A very nice laidy. Sometime with the new space there some thing I'm looking forward in what Calvary future in the new space. This Tuesday night we are going to start the bible study class. The Pastor of Calvary will be leading it.

History to remember: TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME!!! Saturday, September 17, will be the second annual Calvary trip to Church Night at Oriole Park. The Orioles will be playing the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Tickets are $5.00 each and will all ride together.

Saturday morning I got to the church relay. I waited in front of the church. When I saw the van pull up other side I was very happy. I never gotten to go to a baseball game before. Before going to my church I stop by the library and hoping to learn more about the bible.

We started down New York Ave and pass by the ncarpentersion Center. They was handing out fryogurtert out and I was asking the driver can we stop. No Answer... I lowd reminder that, NO!!! We had water a briefest bars. One thing about some church they can get some very good item for low price. We gotten up to the Baltimore beltway atrafficfic started up and worrying that we wood be late. We gotten up by the Ravstadiumtem and we all got getterher. I gotten a program but a few month later. I thron it away wishing I keep it.

We walked up and up and up. All away on the other side of Statentem .
Soft drinks $1.00 Hot Dogs $1.00

It was nice and seeing the other people having fun watching the ball game. The Pastor with her kids and they are enjoy her company. I hope in 2006 we wood do this again. I was great my first time at a real baseball game.

It was nice see other enjoying the game. John was a seat back from me. The pastor half way down with her kids. I wasn't brought up in a home were we seat down at the dinner table and eat together. It was so great a family can be together and happy.

It was getting dark it was and evening game. Every brake in the game they had the camra out at the stadum seating. During the brake I was on the big screen. YAAA!!! Three seconds of fame.

Coming back Jodi was in the back seat and the kids was in the other. We got back to New York Ave and split in to two vans. We got back to Calvary at late that night..

End then I went on home to get some good night sleep.

The next day goo to church.

In the morning like always I stop for my morning Starbuck's in chinatown. I like alot of milk in my coffee and splenda added as well. It almost like sugar.

History to remeber : September 18, 2005 SUNDAY

Bread, bread every were and not a slice of butter to put on it.

Just remebering the front of the cover of the Bulletin.

BREAD PUDDING

2C. Softbread crumbs or 6 slices white bread

1 1/2 tbsp. m,elted butter

3/4 tsp. salt

1 c raisins

3 beaten eggs

1 tsp vanilla flavor (optional)

1tsp allspice (optional)

Preheat oven to 350

.

It using bread slices, break up into small pieces.

In a medium size pot heat milk; blend in bread cubs and butter.

In a large bowl combine suger, salt, raisins and eggs. Blend milk mixture into egg mixture: (add vanilla and sllpice here if desired).

Place dish in a pan of hot water.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until set.

Serves 6.

Today sermon is about Dinner on the Ground. It was an amazing sermon about Amy family and family inlaw. For Moses he had alot to do.

Also in history: September 22, 2005 7:00pm CHOIR PRACTICE has begun. Under the direction of Kevin, the choir meets for rehearsal at 7:30pm on Thursday in the Sanctuary. Parking is available in the Portrait Buidling Garage. A round 8:30pm 0r 9:00pm we wood start ower way back home. For me I had along way back ending up taking a cab instead of waiting for a bus. Crystal City a safe place but green vally is so so.

September 10,2006 at Calvary

CHOIR DAY!!!

Today September 10, 2006: Well yesterday I found that they will be haveing some even't down town on Sunday. So I needed to take an realy bus and after comeing downtown and finding out no block road. It OK.

I started on my new year binder with Calvary and pick up some breafast for me and my mother. We had some breafast and hot coffee from Starbuck. And watching a homless person bolting out of Starbuck because they didn't give any out for free. We started to walk down to Calvary and when up stairs and found there was a breafast was there already. I coulded turn down the potatos and cheese plus bacan. I gave my mother some as I. Edger was there. It was around 9:00am. I spented down to the choir suite. And started chior rehearsal. We have some more great thing comeing soon.

I'm going to stick with Calvary for the the next three month. Around December I will be comeing to one of the service that month.

Today theme was Why are you Poor? and I enjoy every bit of the sermon. Even it took us over 15 minutes over the hour mark.

Some of the member meet my mother. Some didn't and hoping to tack my mother back soon. I have some thing in mind.

After church getting to seat with the new member and some out of towner. They getting us to the life of Washington, DC.

We went over to Thai Chili restarant in Chinatown Washington. This are such cool people to seat around with. They such good friends. The people at my table said the choir sounded very good this Sunday... I talk to my friend across the table did you read some of Amy BLOG. She said yes. I said did you see some of my BLOG. She said a quick look through. YES... I think my BLOG is so COOL...

We are set up to play First Baptist Church next Sunday, September 18th at 4:00 pm. The game will last about two hours and will be followed by a post-game cookout at First Baptist Church. The game will be held at Jefferson Field on the corner of 7th and G SW in DC. It is metro accessible by L'Enfant Plaza. Please let me know if you need further directions. Also let me know if you'll need a glove in order to play and hopefully we will be able to accommodate. Bats, bases, and softballs will be provided. Please show up early to warm up those arms. I should be there by 3:30 pm. Let's go Calvary Baptist!!!

For me I didn't go and wish that I had of. It was a blass. Calvary won the game.

This history to this date. Over five years ago history has change the world as we see it.

September 11, 2006

I always gone to work to fealing my best. When going up the right hand side escalator up to the pentagon. When bar-coding some items to be sold. When one of my friends walks by to show one of the World Trade Centers was on fire. That a plane hit the World Trade canter. Later she came back and show that a second plane it the World Trade Center. I could not believe that anyone can do that.

So one ran by the store he said "A truck boom the building." I log out all the computer system before I gotten my bag and head on out of the Pentagon… I saw an Army Solder was grading the center court door way. We were walking slow smiling some smoke. As you see in the picture on Columbia Pike and Navy Annex.

After gone out on the bridge over the street and looking back and seeing a very, very dark smoke coming out of the other side of the Pentagon. Going over me and over the Double Tree Hotel. Everything started to go slow. Walking across the south parking looking back and side by side people getting away from the building. Standing by highway 395 and seeing the building up in smoke. Talking to someone beside me. Now what is going to happen next? He said “They need to find out how did it.”

So they told everybody to go on the other side of 395 to be safe. So I walk over to Macy’s and they told to keep on going. I was on the side of Macy’s at South Hayes Street and the and explosion happen and some said the state department. The Metro Subway was closed down.

Pentagon Metro was close for the next three days. I walk taken the escalator in pentagon city metro and in Fashion Center. They had a line in to the public phone. Only place was open was Hamburger store. I when up the elevator up to the third floor. Found a phone free and called home. Told everything was OK. Cartoon it is.

When I gone home I said we can order some pizza. So we called Pizza Hut. But no answer so we when with Domino Pizza called my older brother called and told him to pick up a coke when he was coming home. We’ll sit down and watch the World Trade Center on fire and seeing the people hanging out the windows. After getting the pizza and wishing to have a good Pizza Hut Pizza. I started to call co-worker and my suppervisior and email my Director on how gotten home.

The next day I was at home. So I had too much really going on for the last 48 hours. So I stick with the cartoon network all day. Flipping throw the channel on 911 the same person over and over again. I didn’t what to see it. Cartoon it is. Me and my father go a little auntie and when down town. All bus was sent to Pentagon City Metro. We went to TGI Friday’s for lunch. We was sitting by the window and hear a boom. The fail against the window. Every one almost jump from there sit. But in the end his has been ok. That Friday we were brought over to another building to work at until Monday.

As you see in the second picture After returning to the Pentagon and seeing this everyday coming home and going to work. Seeing what happen to so many good people that work in the government. But hope came and they started on rebuild the part of the Pentagon was damage during 911.

During that time they were rebuilding the Pentagon they was building a America’s Heroes for September 11, 2001 THOSE LOST AND MISSING. On picture Sixth and Seventh.

The eight pictures was build a stain glass window for every person who dead in 911.

The first 911 anniversary they held a memorial service at the Pentagon. They was handing out programs and pins out to remember this day.

I think it is about the many thing in life.

During the time at the pentagon after 911. You see the tents and tents of people haveing there lunch, breafast or dinner. They have some almost work around the clock to find more servicer.

Those on duty September 11, 2001 who earned the Purple Heart differ from most other helpless of this prestigious award. When they made the greatest of sacrifices it was on America's sol, here at Pentagon.

Right after they put out the fire they place a flag beside the pentagon to remind us that we are American.

Also the Shopping center near the Pentagon place there flag and all across the nation.

Calvary Small Summer Group,,, Very Very Small.

. Today we had ower for and last this summer of Summer group It was Monday 4, 2006 it Labor day in Washington, DC and across this great country of ower.

This movie is very very funny. With this movie I hope they make a part II... Who know when they can make part II with almost any movie. Where the market is bass on who many ticket you sell that week to make the box office hit.

For me I had a good time. The first time I saw this movie it was at Kingstowne 16 Movie Theater. No body think this is a funny movie. Until I when to on in Regal Gallery Place Stadium 14 down town chinatown. If you can and you what to be with alost of people who enjoy the movie. Don't go to rich neaber hood theater... It like not body think the mark brother funny...

I enjoy it the small summer group enjoy it as well. The total of people was in the group even counting me. Is two.. Two is the total amout but it didn't made it less funny.

This Sunday is going to be the great. It going to be a spashal day for me. There someone I'm going to bring to church this Sunday... If anyone can find where the person is sitting, plus tell me who is this person is. Will win a $5.00 Starbuck's Card from me. Choir start up this Sunday I'm looking forward in going and getting down with it. I get to see all the people at the same time. I think it so, so, speical to see so many good hearted people in one area. I think that way they call it a church. (smile) I'm looking forward in new people in the choir.

Just remebering when summer started it was the last time for the spring in the choir. Seeing and looking side to side and trying to keep at picture in my mine that people that I care for and enjoy being with. Keeping a picture in my mine on the husben and wife with there eight or more month old baby. A new memeber to the church. The long time memeber being there in the pew. I hope you understand there so many reason in being in the choir. It hard to list them all. Third Week In Calvary: I didn't miss this Sunday

This is my third week in Calvary. We'll if you been reading up on my BLOG from January 2006 Wonderful Life At Calvary. It a story on when I gotten up to becomeing part of this church. But I'm getting ahead of my self. It September 11, 2005 and I alway stay home on this day. Anything going to happen. I what to be in my safe comfert of my place I living.. But in life you can't hid under a rock evey time it get hard you in the real world.

So for me I said "You found this wonderful church. Get up and go. If GOD what you to live to see another day that his will. If not hey at lease I been to church." You know what I mean.

GOD IN THE WATER

The title of Amy sermon was GOD IN THE WATER.. For me "Will Short" I wood tell you what I know about when I was comeing up to this point. From the book of Exodus went Moses's lead GOD people out of Eygpt. For me I was not brought up in a church, no bible study and holy communion. But only by the Hollywood view of the holy bible. The Ten Commandments Charlton Heston played Moses and God Uncredited Voice. Also the Disney verion is called The Prince of Egypt Animated version of the bible story from the book of Exodus. This one has alot of musical and action and it was a wonderful story. And a happy ending when Moses only age about a year or so. But in the bible it was over 40 year's. With his wife looking in to the promise land. But they never show him going in. But in the real world the story is not all musical nor it all action and fun...

I was over and over again people saying to Moses are we there yet... Sometime I think Moses could say if you keep on saying that again. I'll turn around and take you right back were you came from. Well I glade he didn't said that. But the hard life the people. GOD said from the two week ago with Excuess, Excuses. Well the burning bush started on the whole and rush to the dessert. It was Moses who bring his people out. Moses said alot of thing that. I'm not the man you what to be you rep. I killed some one and the people will see I was a prince of Egypt liveing the good life. But no GOD said it you. He when back got the people ready got on the way after so many thing happen durning the story. They didn't hope in there father van. They when by feet or camel's. Only the thing they can carry with them. Mybe it happen but during the service the kids came up the the pulpit and the teacher as what wood you take with you on a long trip. One said the bible other said food, water and so one and so fourth. Yes But in the Next week. How remeber to bring the Yeast... Well that next week story...

I was very thankful in what I learn this Sunday. Looking back I know I made the right move in coming here.

I gotten my first card from Calvary on September 15, 2005. A card saying Calvary glad that I worshipping with them. I was very happy on being apart of this church and it was signed by the pastor... I'm going to hold on this very close to me. One day it will become more fames then Barbra Brown Tayler..

Second Week at Calvary: Miss this Sunday

Yes I have miss this Sunday Holy Communion service. After finding the church I really enjoy I miss it because, I spent the after noon up to midle of the next up to next morning. It was my friend birthday and had it up in Clinton Maryland and for me I don't own a car. So I needed to stay over night. I didn't get to much sleep and I whated to go to church that morning. In that morning I went back yard and started to clean up. after cleaning up I had some chicken wing for breafast that morning. The cool was almost going out and it was hot so it was slow cooking on the grill. We wrap up and started to go down to his house to sleep some more. Just around 7:00am we got to his house. I got some more sleep and saw that I could have try to make it. But I didn't and around 1:00pm I start going home. I when right to bed and sleep hour or so.

Sometime history will repeat it self... This Sunday I'm going to pay for the picnic and the Fall Retreat for the First Baptist Church.

Sometime I try to understand.. I try to see what I should do in life. I learn so much cents that day on the bible. I learn about more about the church.
