My first Snowed out from Calvary and to now.

It one of the post on AMY BLOG Talk With the Preacher and the subject “Jesus Is NOT My Boyfriend”. From the beginning to end of this I told the short version to tell what I want to say. But started on Thanksgiving Eve at the First Baptist Church NW D.C. November 23, 2005 Calvary Baptist was invited to join their Thanksgiving Eve service with Jim and Amy in the same church. WOW!!! Before I came over to their service I check their web site and found a Monday night class and a Wednesday fellowship dinner were member and non-member can meet and have dinner only for $5.00. It was some good food, wonderful fellowship and always make people feel welcome. From then It had a lot of time stop by and talk to some of the people at the front desk during Worship hour 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Monday – Friday when I was walking throw the naberhood. They have music play in the background and it wood is the best time to do some silent meditation and to reflect and the thing you did in life. Thanksgiving came and went. Christmas came and went. As well New Years.

And now February 12, 2005 came and their was over a foot of snow fell on the greater Washington, DC area plus Maryland and up to 22” inch of snow fell as well. It is my second day being away from Calvary. How did it go? It was ok but I rather be at my church. I try to wait to about 8:30am before I try to come on in. After getting ready and started down stair and found a foot of snow on the floor and telling my self. William If you go in someone will say… YOU BUMP YOU HEAD! So around 9:00AM came then I called dial Amy ext on the phone. For my ears Amy answer the phone. AMY you must be the only person their. But never lest member showed up ten of them was member and twenty was guest to the church. First Baptist had over fifty five people showed up.

My comment was:
It was nice you had a wonderful Sunday with a hand full of the members. I didn’t make it you know. SNOW. I really miss Amy service but Tuesday morning I read over your service but I didn’t finish reading it. Monday morning came I read your BLOG "Essentials" and I could see with it could be like at church that day.

I heard that Kevin and a member was playing the piano together her left hand on the piano and his right hand on the piano and they made beautiful music together.

I looking forward to get me threw another week at work. So with me I had an ok day me and my brother had like a Sunday dinner together. CHICKEN! So the next day feel little down.

I was found out their Young Adult Bible Study and the First Baptist Church on Monday night. And you said “That you had just a little bit of what Rev. Jim Somerville you are really good.” Yes I totally agree on what you said. It was durning the Thanksgiving Eve coffee hour and the special service they had.

Jim had a wonderful bible study over their not putting you’re class down. Some of the bible passage keeps my mouth open. He had of Feb. 19 one of his three year planned service. Helps pastors to plan their services for the next three years. Plus it was very moving looking forward on the next lesson.

I still love my church at Calvary. GOD always has thing in mind to keep us happy.

But for me I know AMY was looking out for me. I know Amy know I wood come on in and I my hurt my self. So Amy said to “stay home.” If I could say anything is “Thank you Amy… for everything you did and looking for my heath.”

LESSON Isaiah 43:18-25, Psalm 41, 2 Corinthians 1:18-22 and Mark 2:1-12.

For me I was so. Their was no word can say what amount of cassettes they had for sale. But got to buy Jan 5, 22, and Feb 5 service from the FBC. They were keep in a glass case of cassette tape. WOW!!!

My Comments was:
WoW. I didn’t know about this hymns out their in some of this church. I know for shore that if we had to sing this music you said. That I know I wood hum “GOD LOVES ALL OF HIS LITTLE CHILDREN”. I wooded be able to get me to sing it if my choir gives me a free latte… or maybe?

Your so right Amy say what is on your mind and that a good thing. That one of the thing about Baptist church I like is “YOU CAN SAID THAT” do you get the picture. But their a line that we know what not to cross but we all call just go up to the side of the line and not cross over it. And not at the price of other people. But their many hymns I can say their a lot better then being in love with GOD. I am going to name some.

COVENTRY CAROL
bye bye lully lull
Fare Ye Will

“ Laudate Dominum” O praise Jehovah
Gloria (From the 12th Mass)
Now to Praise the Name of Jesus

The last the not less JESUS, JOY OF MAN’S DESIRING On the bye bye lully lulla I got a copy of it from one of Calvary service I had to play it three or four time to hear is that the choir group in Calvary. WoW you don’t have to have a large choir to get a beauty full music together.

Faith and the Media 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Amy just what you to know that well my Young Adult Bible Study at First Baptist Church I pick in the window of the Choir Practice on a Monday Night. YES A MONDAY NIGHT A FULL CHOIR. I know people have their own life to lead. But WOW!!!

Last year we had a Thursday choir practice out of 18 people we only can get 6-8 people to show up. That why I said “A full choir on a Monday night.”

On ending Amy BLOG comment was “But for my "Jesus Is NOT My Boyfriend" no I don’t think that’s my cup of tea.”

My friend sometime get my email, after reading and I end my email with “I hope I didn't get long winded” they said Yes you do get long winded.

TO ALL THE PEOPLE I MEET AND THE FAITH I HAVE IN GOD. FOR ME BEING A CHRISTEN BODY START HAPPENING IN MY LIFE.

My first time I put a choir robe

Today I posted a comme nt on Amy BLOG site : Talk With the Preacher check Less of Me, More of God: Some Reflections on Robing . It is funny that I was coming coming home that it can be also be part of my BLOG sit my self. So Amy I don't know if your reading this. Also I have a straight face doing this.

I remember my first time trying the choir robe. They had to show that I had the neck part on backwards and another time neck piece was inside out, their was another I put it on and the sleeves was short with a Velcro cuffs. I ask one of the choir members and I found out it belong to Music Director. That was the first time I saw one in my life. From the first time I put the choir robe it was so cool. WOW!!! But now after a good month later it likes putting on my shirt to go to work.

But every so often I put up my arms and see the wings of my robe. Yes I found out with one of the member of the choir it called angel wing on the robe. WOW!! So cool. But I need to remember less of me, more of choir. Less of me, more of choir and sing clearly. I looking to see you’ll. Plus being in the pulpit it is very nice to see all the Calvary member in a greater community that we have a comment goal in life. Being Christian body that reaches out to the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ. To that end we strive to be welcoming, responsive, trusting, and prayerful in everything we do. Yes that one thing that so offen goes threw my head before we start owner first hymn for the day.

GOD MIN

1 Chronicles 15:27
Now David was clothed in a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and as were the singers, and Kenaniah, who was in charge of the singing of the choirs. David also wore a linen ephod.

Dear God, we pray for faith and courage to bear witness that we belong to the body of Christ, and for the desire to worship you with our whole being. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
